High Wycombe Masters

Last weekend was a busy one for Pinewood Judo Club with the Masters competing at High Wycombe on Saturday with the juniors and seniors taking their turn on Sunday in Eastleigh at the Hampshire Split Grade Competition.

Cadet European Cup

Further afield both Kiera Bateman and Olivia Spellman were representing their country in Coimbra Portugal at the Cadet European Cup. Each fought well in their respective weight categories with Kiera at U48kg and Olivia U63kg.

They both fought their way to their respective semi final contests.

Kiera was unlucky to face a 5th world ranked fighter and the eventual Gold medallist in her semi which she lost by a single penalty.

Olivia also lost her fight for a place in the final and then was disappointed to lose hard fought contest for bronze by 2 penalties to take 5th place. Kiera doubled her annoyance losing her own fight for bronze again by penalties.

In all a good weekend for the club.
