Welsh Pre-Cadet & Below Open Championships 2015

NOAH WELSH OPEN SILVER MAY 2015Dear All,

Last weekend a small but capable bunch of Pinewood judoka travelled  to Cardiff for the Welsh Open.

Noah Jones started proceedings with some great judo losing only one fight to a capable opponent and taking Silver in the U34 U13 years category.

He was followed by an on form Dan Franklin who didn’t put a foot wrong taking Gold in the U48 also in the under 13 section.

Next up was Terri Gough who, despite a few mistakes managed a Silver in the U13 and then picked up her game to take another Silver in the older pre cadet section both at U48kg .

Wade Muttit brought the day to a satisfactory close with a quick win to top his group against the only other pre cadet at U34. He then took on the next weight group up at U48. Despite the large weight disadvantage he fought with intelligence moving too fast for his larger opponents and throwing with a good range of throws and groundwork.Looking like a mongoose dispatching a series of snakes he took his second Gold.

Their coach Mark Fricker was pleased with 3 Golds and 3 Silvers from 4 competitors.
