British Judo Council – Ketterick

Last Sunday six of the Pinewood junior Judoka fought at the British Judo Council’s national tournament, held in Ketterick. They did quite well to win 3 gold, 2 silver and 1 bronze medals.

 

The boys fought first and Declan Whyte showed excellent form, he won the gold medal at under 38 kgs. Cameron Charles was also in good form, he won gold as well, in the under 50 kgs weight group. The two heavier boys under 66 kgs had quite a good day, Harvey Williams won silver and William Von Mallinckrodt took the bronze medal. 

The club had two girls fighting and they took a gold and silver in their respective weight groups; Holy Eccles won gold at under 40 kgs and Kiera Bateman took the silver medal at under 44 kgs. The club’s next tournament will be the Ippon Trophy Antwerp in Herentals Belgium, on the 18 of May.
