Pinewood Judo Club has had a busy two weekends. On Saturday the 16th of October they fought in the Kyu grade cup at the High Wycombe Judo Centre. In the section for up to green belts Kevin Stacey fought well to win the silver medal at under 100 kgs.
In the other section for blue and brown belts Sam Wyke at under 73 kgs won a bronze medal, a slight misunderstanding cost him the place in the final. Samson Omonua fought superbly in the over 100 kgs weight group. He won all of his fights by a maximum of 10 points for each win with four throws and one hold down to take the gold medal.
Two of the Pinewood girls were also fighting, in the senior women’s blue and brown belt section. Dominique Brown did well to win gold at under 63 kgs and Laura Tapping won silver at under 70 kgs. A most satisfactory result for two 16 year olds.
