British Junior Trials 2011

The Pinewood Judo Club had quite a good result at the British Trials last weekend. The trials were held English Institute of Sport and the under 20 year’s group were held on Saturday.

Ben Fletcher won first place at under 90 kgs and Emma Pang finished in third place at under 44 kgs. Several more of the Pinewood Judoka were entered and did well but they were mostly are on the young side for these trials. The experience will stand them in well for next year.

The seniors were fighting on the Sunday, Matthew Purssey had a very good day, and he won the first place at under 90 kgs. Third places were won by Megan Fletcher under 70 kgs, Graham Trinder under 60 kgs and Alex Farbon under 73 kgs.

This was quite a good result for the club because many of the top Judoka are a little young this year for this level.
