NHC Split Grade Tournament

Last Saturday a small number of Pinewood Judo Club’s members fought at High Wycombe in the Northern Home Counties split grade tournament. It was not well attended but any competition is better than none.

The squad won a total of 5 gold, 3 silver and 1 bronze medals. The first to fight were the 4th to 9th Mon section and at under 27 kgs Alfie Thomas won gold and Noah Jones the silver medal. Under 30 kgs Wade Muttitt won silver and Cameron Charles at under 50 kgs won the gold medal to complete the section for the club.

The green belt and above section also went well for the club, Declan Whyte won bronze at under 38 kgs and Thomas Huckstep fought well to win gold in the combined 60 and 66 Kgs weight group. Three of the clubs girls were fighting, Holly Eccles took silver at under 40 kgs, Kiera Bateman gold under 44 kgs and Kymran Shergill won gold in the 52 and 57 kgs combined weight group.
